Summary:

Director James Cameron takes us to a world beyond imagination in the most spectacular 3D film yet.

It's been 14 years since James Cameron - the man behind Aliens, Terminator 2 and Titanic - dreamt up his latest movie. Back then, the special effects needed to bring his vision to the big screen didn't exist. Today they do. The far-away world of Pandora is home to the Na'vi, a race of incredibly tall, blue-skinned people, and Hell's Gate is the planet's human compound. Some humans, like Colonel Quaritch (Stephen Lang), view the Na'vi as a threat and want to wage war against them. Others, like Dr Grace Augustine (Sigourney Weaver), want to save them. When disabled soldier Jake (Sam Worthington) dons his Avatar - a body made to resemble the Na'vi - and meets native female Neytiri (Zoe Saldana), he ends up on a journey of discovery unlike anything he could ever have imagined.
